Fire TV Cube vs Apple TV

The battle to prove the best streaming devices will not end pretty soon. Bunches of choices available out there, and today we want to pick the best streaming product from Amazon and Apple. Amazon has its Fire TV Cube and Apple still stands with its Apple TV. Each of them comes with different prices. Fire TV Cube is always known to be an affordable streaming device, unlike Apple’s. Is that the only thing that’s good from it? Can Apple TV actually withstand its power? Let’s see about that below.

Fire TV Cube

This streaming device for Amazon is packed with a complete set of home entertainment. Amazon also did an amazing upgrade to pump it up to the roof. It comes with a stronger upgraded processor in order to make the user experience way better than before. Amazon Fire TV Cube also supports some amazing features such as ability to play 4K, supporting video with HDR10+, and also the Dolby Vision and Atmos audio support. All of those packed into one tiny black box that looks somewhat simple, especially with those little buttons on it.

The integration with Alexa is indeed very good, you don’t even need a remote to do so. You can turn on your TV, switch to another channel, or play specific movies via voice commands to Alexa. It’s very confinience, especially if you happen to lose your remote in some sort of way, and still unable to find it. This integration will break the bound between user and the remote. Even when the TV is turned off, the voice command feature is still on, thanks to its upgraded version of Amazon Echo speaker. This feature becomes better with the additional Local Voice Control, allowing you to give a command right on the device rather than the cloud, resulting in much faster performance. You can also use the remote if you desire it though.

Not only controlling the TV or any integrated smart home devices, with this, you can also control the other satellite boxes with specific known brands. This feature is not available in Apple TV. So if you want to grasp the ability to multitask while watching your favorite programs, Fire TV Cube may be the best for you.

Fire TV Cube also gives you to all Amazon channels, such as Amazon Prime Video for example. Third party apps like Netflix or Hulu can be added too to enrichen the entertainment experience. Aside from streaming videos, you can always listen to music via programs like Spotify or Amazon Music anytime you want to.

With all these beautiful features, no wonder people put the Amazon Fire Cube to the top. Great pictures, tons of features, with extra integration with Alexa, who doesn’t want all of those? But, is it anywhere better than Apple TV? Let’s find out.

Apple TV

Apple is known to have better user experience for its products, including the Apple TV. The product of Apple TV looks way more appealing. The shape of it is nice to look at, especially without those sharp edges and just box without any addition or modification. Plus, even though the menu is less complex, Apple TV’s menu that is big and clear to see is also another good thing.

For the technical specifications, Apple TV surpasses Fire TV Cube with its doubled amount of ram, which is 32GB (or 64GB), complete with A10X Processor. This processor makes strolling around the menu more smooth and convenient.

It’s also packed with voice command and integrated with Siri. You can also control your basic smart home features with this, thanks to its integration with Homekit. It’s not that superior to Fire TV Cube’s though, because it functions are way limited than Echo. The remote that arrived with the TV may look simple, but it’s not actually that great for the hands. It’s a bit slippery on the base, and the small touchpad makes it hard just to navigate. Many reviews have confirmed this.

About the programs, it has the same great ones just like Fire Cube TV. Amazon Prime Video, or the third party apps are all available. And of course, you’ll also have a grasp of Disney + and Apple TV+ that are not available in Fire TV Cube yet. You can also watch some 4K HDR movies with paying subscriptions. But this doesn’t go with Youtube though.

Google and Apple seem to never agree about their video formats, so with that saying, you can’t watch 4K Video on Youtube. Aside from having the Disney + and Apple TV+, you can also have access to Now TV which consists of live football leagues and other sport events. May be a great choice for sports fans out there.

Unlike Fire Tv Cube, Apple TV only has HDR support. Having HDR10+ could be great for future investigation. Who knows, maybe there will be some HDR10+ movies coming out soon. But, for the quality of the pictures, you can always depend on Apple. Even though not that very noticable, Apple TV can give sharper images with smoother tone, making a pleasing scene to the eyes. So even without the HDR10+ support, the quality of the Apple TV display still shines.

Another hard choice to make. Fire Tv Cube can give you a great functionality to control basically every smart devices you own with the help of Local Voice Control (and Alexa for sure). Built in speakers are also reliable without a remote and can do the job pretty well. The processor installed also good enough for daily & hardcore use. No delay, no lag, or any problem regarding navigating menus. The HDR10+ display is also a really nice thing to have, especially for the future entertainment. All of this packed inside a 120 dollars cube by Amazon. Totally worth it to get.

Apple TV on the other side, has an amazing quality display, plus has some things that Fire Cub TV doesn’t like Disney + and Apple TV+. The storage option is also way bigger, and also combined with a really powerful processor to eliminate any trouble for a more convenient user experience. Apple Arcade exclusive gaming content is also worth a try. So, if you are really in that Apple circle and environment, Apple TV is good to have.
